Serious Assault

This is a message from Cumbria Constabulary.

This is a message to inform you that an incident of assault has occurred on Wednesday 10th April 2019 at approximately 1300hrs, on Corporation Road, Workington.  An unknown offender  has approached the victim and hit him several times with a metal bar over the body and head. 

Did you see or hear anything suspicious?  Your information could be extremely important.

In view of that we invite you to do the following:
 
  1. To contact the Police on 101 if you saw anything or anyone you considered suspicious around the time of the incident.
 
  1. To be alert for similar crimes and report any suspicious behaviour.
Finally, if we can be of any assistance whatsoever, please ring the above telephone number or contact any Police officer.

Here is some basic information on Crime Prevention:Please make sure that all windows and doors, especially those on the ground floor, are shut and locked. If the window acts as an escape route in a fire situation then please make sure this is not compromised. In addition please ensure that all valuables especially handbags, cash and mobile phones are secured at night within your home and are not on view which would enable easy access to them for an intruder.
