Trading Standards Community Messages

Alert message sent 31/05/2019 14:27:00

Information sent on behalf of Cumbria County Council

Further to our message yesterday regarding Trading Standards alerts and messages no longer being sent out via the Community Messaging System.

We have had several enquiries about this and the reasons why which we would like to clarify.

You may be aware that Cumbria Constabulary have recently decided to move on from using the Community Messaging System with their licence expiring today.  Trading Standards messages were sent under this licence. As a Service we have had to look at how we can be more efficient and cost effective about the way we keep you informed.

We will be moving to a system already used by Cumbria County Council to send updates from other Services in the Council.  We would like to continue to keep you informed and updated, however we are unable to automatically transfer your email address to our new system.  From 17 June 2019 you will be able to sign up to updates and alerts from Trading Standards using this system following the link below which will allow you to choose your subscriber preferences and who you wish to receive messages from:-

https://cumbria.gov.uk/signup/

As previously mentioned you can also follow us on our Facebook page "Cumbria Trading Standards" or on twitter @cumbriats.

Thank you for your patience.
